WOMEN:girls Empowers 134 Young Women as Latest ‘Kerjayaku: Goal Accelerator’ Cohort Graduates

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 December 2025Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita dan Gadis (WOMEN:girls) proudly announced the graduation of its latest batch of participants from the Kerjayaku: Goal Accelerator programme on November 28, 2025. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the initiative, bringing the total number of young women empowered to 134 since the program’s inception in October 2024.

Powered by Standard Chartered Foundation, Kerjayaku: Goal Accelerator is a comprehensive career development initiative designed to uplift women aged 18 to 35. The program specifically targets those eager to enter the workforce but who may face barriers to employment, equipping them with the essential tools to enhance employability, build resilience, and navigate the modern job market with confidence.

“Reaching 134 participants in just over a year is a testament to the hunger and potential of young women in Malaysia,” said Izza Izelan, Executive Director at WOMEN:girls. “The Kerjayaku program goes beyond just resume writing; it is about helping these women rediscover their self-worth, understand their employee rights, and build the mental resilience needed to sustain a career. Seeing this latest batch graduate gives us renewed hope for a more inclusive workforce.”

The program is structured into two intensive phases:

  • The Learn Phase: Full-day interactive workshops covering Life & Intra-Personal Skills, Career Development, and Gender & Health awareness.
  • The Earn Phase: A practical mentorship period that includes personalized career consultations, masterclasses with industry experts, and direct engagement with employers through career fairs.

By focusing on holistic development—ranging from public speaking and goal setting to understanding gender-based violence in the workplace—Kerjayaku aims to create not just employees, but empowered individuals capable of independent decision-making.

With the successful conclusion of the November cohort, WOMEN:girls continues its mission to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for marginalized youth.
